Dobson Shuts Down Senators

The Boston Red Sox shut out the Washington Senators 7-0 today behind the strong pitching of Joe Dobson. Dobson surrendered only 6 hits in recording the complete-game victory. He registered 5 strikeouts and 4 walks.  "Some days you just run into a buzzsaw," said Senators manager Joe Kuhel

The Red Sox are now 5-3 on the season and trail the Indians by one game. The Sox will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Athletics tomorrow. Mel Parnell (1-0) will take the mound for the Red Sox and Joe Coleman (0-2) will take the mound for the A's

 In the National League there is a three way tie for first. The Braves, Cardinals and Pirates are all tied for first. .
