Benefiting from Red Rolfe's productive game, the New York Yankees downed the Boston Red Sox, 9-4. Rolfe went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Yankees.
The defending champion Yankees have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 6-6 with the win. Rolfe had a key at-bat for New York early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and gave New York an early 3-0 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Rolfe.
