1939 Red Sox Season Replay: Weekly Notes

The Red Sox are off to a 4-2 start. The start included a three game sweep of the Yankees at Yankee Stadium to start the season. The Red Sox then dropped two of three to the Athletics at home.

The Red Sox have a three game series against the Senators at Fenway to start the week and the Yankees come to Fenway for a two game series. The Red Sox will end the upcoming week in Philadelphia with a two game series against the Athletics.

The 4-2 record is good enough for a share of the AL lead. The Yankees are off to a surprising 2-5 start.

Jimmie Foxx was named AL Player of the Week and Mel Ott won the NL honors.
