40 years ago tonight Game 6 of the 1975 World Series took place. The Red Sox would win the game but not the series. They would have to wait 29 years and six more days for that to finally happen again. The game still lives on though. Carlton Fisk hit one of the most famous home-runs in baseball history while Bernie Carbo became an unlikely hero.
The game also inspired one of the great lines from one of the best scenes from a very good movie, "I had to go see about a girl"
Happy 40th to Pudge, Carbo and of course Sean Maguire who met his late wife on this night in 1975.
