I am biased when it comes to the Buckeyes, I hate them. I lived in Ohio for about two years and quickly became to hate their program and their obnoxious fans. It was great seeing them get blown out twice to SEC teams in national title games and it is even better that they undefeated on the season yet are ineligible for postseason play. It is a great time to hate the Buckeyes. They deserve your laughter.
The Buckeyes and their fans have always held the belief that they are the end all be all when it comes to college football power programs. They also have a very special dislike for the SEC. This is probably due to the fact that they can never seem to beat them. The Buckeyes, or tOSU as they refer to themselves, refused to admit the SEC had better teams until they had no choice. However, they admitted it by saying "well, we do things the right way here". That was their way of admitting the SEC was better, but of course in true Buckeye form they had an excuse. Their excuse was that the SEC was not pure. The SEC was a bunch of thugs that bent rules and didn't go to class.
Comic relief set in when it came out that the Buckeyes were like most big programs and had their skeletons. Players were receiving improper benefits. It was not the end of the world but to the Buckeyes it was. It was a big deal because they had this holier than thou image. You must protect the image. When you are hell bent on protecting the fake image you tend to do things you regret, like lying to the NCAA. Thank you Jim Tressel.
The Buckeye program was in trouble but they had not learned their lesson. Most schools who finally come clean start to punish themselves while they are being investigated. It is a way of getting in good favor with the NCAA. The Buckeyes could have banned themselves from postseason play last season. It would have been perfect. Show the NCAA you are sorry and on top of that you had an average team with an interim coach. The Buckeyes don't think that way though. They believe they are bigger than college football. They didn't think the NCAA had the balls to hand down a postseason ban on them. After all, tOSU is college football.
The Bucks were wrong. The NCAA nailed them. Ohio State plays Michigan this Saturday with a chance to complete an undefeated season. I have never rooted so hard for Ohio St in my life. I hope they destroy Michigan. I want them undefeated. It will make it that much easier to laugh at them.
